Digital Media didn't exist the first time I went to college and was still in its infancy the second time around. And, when I started out at West Valley College it wasn't on my radar. Then I happened to take an unlikely combination of classes that forced me to make use of both the right and left sides of my brain. I was learning math using circles, squares, and triangles and at the same time learning how to draw circles, squares, and triangles. The learning experience of that semester was out of this world. I'll never be a Rembrandt but the most important thing I learned is that anyone can be creative if they will only take the chance and learn from the early struggles.
I wrote that over 10 years ago. Now, I've graduated college at the age of 61, had a successful 4th career building a unique program at Habitat for Humanity where building playhouses is used as a team building exercise for corporate groups, and now in retirement I'm continuing to discover the world in new and different ways.
